Never has a paragraph described me so perfectly before. This is me in every sense.

Actual conversation.
Me: “I’ve been told that in the future, you know, when the time comes, I have to be the one to propose.”
Some girl: “I heard that girls can propose on leap years.”
Me: “well… We’re both girls.”
Girl: “…oh.”

Day twenty.
Maureen or Joanne? (Or your favorite LGBTQ show or queer-positive show)
This is like a carbon-copy of the previous question.

Day nineteen.
Butch or Femme?
Uh, yes? I don’t know. I don’t really fit into either category. However, my girlfriend likes to say that I am straight in all ways except that I like girls. So.

Day eighteen.
Something about the LGBTQ community you don’t understand or have a question about.
I don’t understand why more celebrities don’t come out. Seriously.

Day seventeen.
Your first experience with an LGBT organization or event (Day of Silence, Pride, etc).
I first experienced the Day of Silence in High School, but didn’t participate. When I went to college, I began to question my sexuality on a much deeper level, and sought out guidance and kinship. I found a group called the Orlando Youth Alliance. It was a small group of 13-18 year-old kids who wanted to...

A picture from your first LGBT relationship or of your first LGBT crush.
…haha. This is pretty much our relationship, summed up in a picture.

Day fifteen.
Your favorite LGBT quote.
I just found this, but I love the message. I’m on my way to taking it to heart.
“If you dream of a world in which you can put your partner’s picture on your desk, then put her picture on your desk…and you will live in such a world. And if you dream of a world in which you can walk down the street holding your partner’s hand, then hold...

Day fourteen.
Your favorite LGBT song or artist.
It’s not my favourite necessarily, but I feel I should mention September’s Children (Make it Stop) by Rise Against. It’s awesome that such a popular, well-known band put out an anti-bullying, lgbt-friendly song. It’s great.

Day thirteen.
Your favorite LGBT role model/celebrity
Ellen Degeneres is an incredible inspiration for all lgbt people, because she works every day to show that homosexual people are just like everyone else, and can be great entrepreneurs and humanitarians.
Dani Shay is my favourite lgbt musician. She is also a big inspiration to the community.
John Barrowman, RuPaul, and Janet Mock also come to mind.

Day twelve.
Your favorite LGBT movie (or one you’d like to see)
Probably DEBS. Haha. I know it’s lame, but Jordana Brewster is hot. That being said, I also really enjoy Imagine Me and You. It’s sweet.

Day eleven.
Your favorite LGBT book (or one you’d like to read)
Ohhhh, boy. Okay, so I read gay teen fiction constantly. I have since I was in early high school. I think I’ve basically read them all. So here are some of my faves.
Gayness: The Rainbow Boys trilogy is excellent. Check ‘em out. Also check out Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You, Peter, and DEFINITELY check out Will Grayson Will...

Day ten.
What does marriage mean to you?
Obviously, marriage is a religious institution at its core, but I think that in our society it has become a sort of a given for any manner of couple, whether they are religious or not. I am not religious, but I like the idea of the lifelong bond between two people. Not to mention the financial and personal benefits of marriage.

Day nine.
What do you think about LGBT Pride? Is it helpful or hurtful? Encouraged or unnecessary?
I love it. I had pride before I even knew I needed it. I think it is a way for people to relate to others. Generally, humans like to find bonds with other people. We need to be able to relate to one another. Having pride is a way of saying, yes, I am just like you, and I’m happy about it.

Day eight.
What do you think the closet or being closeted means to you?
I think it just means that you’re not ready to accept your sexuality, or are not ready to tell others about it. Everyone has their own threshold.

Day seven.
How your parents took it or how you think they might take it.
Fortunately, my parents are super chill, liberal type people. I had gay friends almost all of my life and they were always very supportive of them, so I had no fears about coming out to them. My mom cried a little when I told them, but it was only because she thought I wouldn’t get married or have kids.

Day six.
Did you face any problems regarding religion?
No. I’m not religious. Nor is my immediate family. Well, part of my mom’s family is super religious, so they don’t know. But it hasn’t really caused any issues. Thankfully.

Day five.
Thoughts regarding inner turmoil about your sexuality; Did you have any? Did it escalate to self-injury or suicidal thoughts?
I remember when I was younger- maybe I was even in middle school or early high school- I had a thought that went a little something like, if I turned out to be gay, I would just not ever act on it or acknowledge it, because that would be easier. Which makes me sad now. I...

Day four.
The first person you came out to and that story.
I think I came out to my friends Zach and Erick around the same time. At that time, I came out as bisexual, but really I thought I was more straight and confused than anything. The first person I came out to as “gay” was probably Erick, with whom I had many a long conversation on the subject. He said I wasn’t gay. Alright.
Day Three
How old were you when you knew? What was that like for you?
I’m not going to lie and say that I always knew. In reality, it’s been a very slow process. I first started to suspect my feelings when I was 16. I didn’t really accept my gayness until about a year and a half ago, probably around my 21st birthday.
itcantrainforever asked: Hi I was wondering where you got the present challenge thing you are doing. I would love to do it myself.

Day two.
Day 2- Did you have any experiences as a child that might have foreshadowed your sexuality?
The earliest thing I can remember is being at girl scout camp and checking out my counselor’s boobs. Or I guess like… admiring them. Or whatever. I was six.

Day one.
Day 1 - Your sexual orientation or gender identity. Be creative in your definition.
I consider myself to be gay, although I also still think of myself as asexual. I am still extremely asexual, but I have a girlfriend now, so. You know. There’s that.
